Clay & Lindsay
Church Planter
Clay Warden
Clay was born and raised in Madison, Alabama, and came to know the Lord through the faithful care and love of small group leaders at the church he attended throughout high school. They gave him space to be himself—to doubt, ask questions, and come to faith in Jesus in his own time. Simply put, they lived out what it means to be the Church.
He met his wife, Lindsay, at Mississippi State University, where he studied Secondary Education and she studied Special Education. During his college years, while serving in the local church, Clay sensed a growing call to pastoral ministry.
He followed that call by serving as the Youth and Children’s Director at a church in Starkville for four years before attending Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. After seminary, he accepted a call to Trinity Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, where he has served as the Youth and Men’s Minister for the past seven years.
Clay, Lindsay, and their four children—Everett, Hudson, Lilah, and Whit—are now stepping into a new chapter as they pursue church planting, following years of prayer, assessment, and discernment. The Wardens are passionate about the outdoors, discovering new places through food, and spending time with their dogs. Most Saturdays, you’ll find them on a sports field, grilling out with friends, or tinkering in the woodshop.
